Never Stop Eating - Never diet by staying hungry. You will go into what's known as fat storage mode. The body will try to to preserve energy by slowing down the metabolism and it will store more fat for energy for later use. If you can't resist not eating, always try to eat 1200 calories at least. Of course, 1500-2000 calories per day is ideal.

Plus, you need energy from food not only to stay functional throughout the day, but to get the activity you need to speed up your weight loss.

See the First Tip - We consume food for energy, but we also eat to absorb the required nutrients and vitamins we need to live. Vitamin pills are no stand-in for the natural vitamins we find in the foods we eat. Not getting enough vitamins and minerals can cause health problems, depending on what you're lacking.

When you are eating the correct amount of calories everyday, and the food you are consuming is healthy, then your mineral and vitamin intake will be adequate. Most people eating healthy dieting do not need supplementary vitamin supplements.

The Losing Weight Equation - Getting fit is a elementary equation. The number of calories you eat everyday should be less than the amount of calories you burn everyday. If the number of calories consumed is greater than the amount you burn, then those extra calories are turned into fat.

Keep track of the calories you eat with a resource like Fitday.com. Then you can track the number of calories you use up when you are active. Use Fitday to track your burned calories, or use the calorie calculator from NutritionData.com to evaluate how much you burn with daily living and exercise. Keep in mind that rough estimates is OK, and you don't have to worry about your daily flucuation. Just look at the improvements week to week and month to month.

Use Your Mouth - This is a simple trick you can do. Slow down the speed at which you chew (an example would be to count thirty chews before you swallow). It will not only help with your digestion , which actually begins in the mouth, not the stomach, but also convinces your brain into thinking that you are eating more than you really are.
